A n engineer with an A&P license is a good combination. However, I don’t think it would be worth going back to school for a year or two. What variety of engineering?

I am looking for a personal attendant. Y ou must wear a jaunty cap and be willing to be called Jeepus. Salary will be paid in stock options and peanuts. Benefits doe.

I think you meant shudder.
Or is GE going to close (shutter) their Dayton plant?
Also, what’s wrong with Dayton? It’s a nice place to live. There is an incredibly active local arts community for a metro area this size, and the cost of living can be hilariously cheap if you want it to be. And Ohio is within a 5-hour drive of roughly 2/3rds of the US population. So taking a day-trip to go visit somewhere is incredibly easy.

I need civil engineers...

I just got hired by my local county (I’m a career government type, leaving the state university I currently work for ). From application closing date to offer in my inbox was about five weeks, which is moving right along for state/local government hiring. I’ll start in a few weeks. In that time, I also applied for a position with a local company that I wasn’t going to take (term job), but was useful for the purposes of going a my first job interview in 7 1/2 years for a job I didn’t care about getting before going on an interview for a job I actually did want. That company ended up making me a flattering offer at the end of the interview. While I didn’t accept it, the pace of the experience and offer suggested to me that it really is 3.5% unemployment out there right now. This has felt very different than the last time I was really applying for jobs in the 2007ish-2012ish time frame.
Good luck. This feels like a pretty good time to be in the job market.

The maintenance shops don’t pay shit for people getting into it. I’d be happy to switch to aircraft, but can’t take a 2/3 pay cut while working towards A&P. I’ve checked.
![]() 10/28/2019 at 15:06 |
|
Yeah, the best option is to get the A&P at a community college; though that’s obviously not an option for everyone.

Yeah, I could use a 5-15 year experience civil engineer in water, wastewater and site work. Office locations in California, Denver, NW Montana, Portland, Tacoma, Seattle.

I think the last time I had it was as a last-minute, “well, this is closest” during a Lemons race.
We’ve been teaming up as part of a larger team conglomerate lately that organizes foodstuffs and haven’t looked back.

I’m an engineer for the gub’ment, the Navy specifically, and my group is looking for a new manager! Our old one left, and he swears it’s not because of us...
Seriously though, if you’re up for moving about, and you have machine shop skills, consider a career in the naval field. If you want to stay civ, I am aware of a certain missile tube manufacturer that may be in need of skilled people. https://www.exchangemonitor.com/bwxt-blunder-columbia-missile-tube-welds-chewed-two-thirds-programs-margin/ (and I know weld != machining)
And life on the gov side is pretty good, as well. We have a huge machineshop here on site, but I don’t do anything remotely related to it and don’t know anyone out there.
